Harry L. Boston, Ph.D., is the Founder of Boston Government Services, LLC (BGS), an award-winning, technology, engineering and cybersecurity firm that provides solutions to the federal government and commercial energy sectors’ most challenging missions.
With more than 30 years of experience in leading large and complex engineering and environmental programs, both as a senior executive with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and as an executive with several major government contractors, he now leads BGS in supporting government and commercial clients. This dynamic firm supports every stage of its clients’ missions– from strategic planning through execution of engineering and technical activities in complex, secure, and highly regulated environments.
He began his career as a research scientist at the University of Wisconsin and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). He spent 15 years managing engineering and environmental projects prior to joining DOE as a member of the Senior Executive Service. He has served in business leadership positions for several large government contractors including Vice President of Lockheed Martin Hanford Corporation, Senior Vice President of Shaw Environmental and Infrastructure, and executive positions with Jacobs Engineering and Fluor Corporation.
Dr. Boston has been highly effective working with federal, state, and local officials, community groups, the public, and Tribal Nations to communicate and reach consensus on issues related to policy, environment, public health, and technology application.
Dr. Boston is passionately engaged in efforts promoting equity, equality and opportunity for all, efforts promoting economic development, and efforts supporting innovative energy technologies. He is a board member of the Knoxville Area Urban League, the East Tennessee Economic Council (ETEC), the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce, and the Fairview Technology Center. He volunteers and directly supports charitable organizations, organizations that promote entrepreneurialism, and organizations that promote STEM education and the well-being of our children.
